If you have a high-risk medical condition, your healthcare provider may request that you have testing done once or twice a week to assure the health of your baby.
The tests that your healthcare provider may prescribe are:
NST: Non-Stress Test
Monitors are placed on your stomach to record your baby’s heartbeat and your contractions. This test gives your healthcare provider information about your baby’s health and how the stress of movement affects your baby.
AFI: Amniotic Fluid Index
An ultrasound to measure the amount of fluid inside your uterus, surrounding your baby. This test also provides information about your baby’s health.
